The ESSM Grant for Medical Research
The European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) is a multidisciplinary, scientifi c, and educational organization dedicated to the better understanding of human sexual function and its problems, and to the detection, prevention and treatment of sexual difficulties experienced by men and women. It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2007 ESSM Research Grant Programme. These grants which all members of ESSM are welcome to apply for, are intended to further research into any aspect of sexual medicine. Special consideration is given to applications from less experienced researchers who are new to the fi eld of Sexual Medicine. Defined projects may be awarded up to EUR 50 000. Applications will be considered for the grant if they have arrived at the ESSM secretariat no later than the 15 May 2007. ESSM Winter Sexual Medicine Specialist Training Course
23 – 25 November 2007, Lisbon Following the highly successful ESSM Summer School Sexual Medicine Specialist Training Course, held in Oxford during July 2007, we offer a rolling programme of structured teaching for physicians seeking a specialist qualification in Sexual Medicine. This programme will deliver 23 hours of structured teaching from the European Academy of Sexual Medicine syllabus, which may be credited towards the 120-hour teaching requirement which is a component of the Academy’s Fellowship programme. The programme will cover the following topics: sexual dysfunctions related to other medical problems; paraphilas; practical communication and counselling issues in Sexual Medicine; establishing a Sexual Medicine Clinic. This 3-day residential Course will be held at the Altis Park Hotel, Lisbon, beginning at 08.30 on Friday, 23rd November and concluding at 14.30 on Sunday, 25th November. A second 2-week residential (76 hours teaching) Sexual Medicine Specialist Training Course will be held during the summer of 2008.
